Baroque Heian Era

A look based on supernatural protection and aesthetic fascination for the UNCG THREADS fashion show of November 2026; the theme is Project Ascension. I wanted a look based on the artsy nature of the Italian Renaissance and Heian Era Japan. These were also times that were highly superstitious, so the garment does justice to both periods and Kaiser's "Why We Dress the Body's" theory of dressing for beauty and protection.
